Greetings from Concordia College!

Hands for Change, Hearts for Service

Cobbers ventured to many locations in the Fargo-Moorhead community this morning
to offer a hand to local organizations. This program, called Hands for Change, is the service-learning component of Concordia's freshman orientation.

Each orientation club went to a different site. Some played bingo with nursing home residents while others painted, landscaped or played with children. Club 36 was busy making mobile food pantry boxes at the Great Plains Food Bank that would be handed off trucks in underserved areas of North Dakota.

President Urges Passage of Small Business Tax Relief
On August 30th, President Obama spoke in a White House Rose Garden press conference about the economy and the Small-Business Tax Relief Bill. He suggested, "The bill, which has failed to pass a procedural vote several times in the Senate, would enable small-business owners to get the credit they need and eliminate capital gains taxes on key investments so they will have more incentive to act right now." >>>read further
