| We are Tenants, Not Owners |
When Carl '65 and Carol (Bjornseth) '83 Wall, Fargo, N.D., outlined their personal financial plans, they decided to will a percentage of their estate to Concordia in addition to making current gifts to the college. "We feel we are tenants, not owners, of what we've been given," says Carl. "Making current gifts and estate giving are in keeping with our desire to share what is God's anyway. It's an important element of our walk of faith on this earth."
The Walls feel honored to become members of the Concordia Founders Society, established to recognize those who make future gifts to the college. "We are committed to giving to Concordia because the college's mission reaches out into all the world through its students," says Carl. "One Concordia graduate can easily affect the lives of countless others. I can't think of a more sustaining gift that can impact so many lives in so many ways."
You also may want to make it easy and convenient to have a bequest included in your will. The language below shows how a bequest can very easily be included in your will.

Example bequest language - Please feel free to change the numbers or percentages as you desire.
1. Bequest of cash
"I bequeath the sum of $10,000 to Concordia College of Moorhead, MN."
2. Bequest of a percent of the estate
"I devise and bequeath 20% of the remainder and residue of property owned at my death, whether real or personal, and wherever located to Concordia College, Moorhead, MN."
3. Contingent Bequest
"If my brother John Doe survives me, I devise and bequeath 20% of the remainder and residue of property owned at my death, whether real or personal, and wherever located to John Doe. If John Doe does not survive me, then I devise and bequeath 20% of my residuary estate, whether real or personal property and wherever located to Concordia College, Moorhead, MN."
